MISSION STATEMENT OF NORTHLAND ALLIANCE
The mission of the Northland Alliance is to create opportunities to affect positive change for organizations, associations, residents and anyone associated with the Northland area. The Alliance will act as a “think tank” and enabler of different community projects that can and will become independent of NA and sustainable for other organizations to run or participate. Northland Alliance will strive to actively recruit the highest level of talent to the community with the highest level of “consulting” available. |
The Northland Alliance, Inc.
The Northland Alliance, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in March 2001 and dedicated to the improvement of the greater Northland community of northeast Columbus, Ohio. As set forth in its Articles of Incorporation, the Northland Alliance, Inc., in partnership with and in support of the Northland Community Council (NCC) and the Northland Area Business Association (NABA), works to:
ß combat urban blight, neighborhood decline and urban sprawl
ß preserve green space and protect our waterways and the environment
ß create, improve and beautify public spaces including parks, playgrounds, bikeways and other public space
ß enhance and improve the neighborhoods within Northland
ß encourage safe pedestrian access to neighborhoods
ß educate neighbors and businesses on ways to increase safety and lower crime, and to revitalize their properties
ß improve housing stock and access to housing
ß provide or improve needed services to Northland’s residents, workers and visitors
ß support public events which foster a sense of community and neighborhood within the greater Northland area
ß enhance the image of and quality of life for Northland’s residents, workers and visitors
The Northland Alliance, Inc., an Ohio corporation, is a non-profit organization operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) the United States Internal Revenue Code, and is registered as such with the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions, bequests and gifts to the Northland Alliance, Inc. are deductible under respective sections of the United States Internal Revenue Code pertaining to 501(c)(3) organizations.
The Northland Alliance, Inc. is governed by a diverse, community-based
board of directors, all of whom serve without pay or other direct compensation.
